The honest version
Most people who call us are not sure they want to come yet. That's normal. Our job in the first conversation is not to sell you on Sanctuary. It's to listen carefully to what's going on, answer your questions honestly, and help you figure out whether this is the right place.
If it is, the path from there to your first morning on campus is straightforward. We've simplified it as much as possible because the people who reach out to us are usually carrying a lot already.
Five clear steps — first call, clinical evaluation, treatment plan, cost confirmation, then travel and arrival. We walk every step with you.
You or someone close to you reaches out by phone. The first call is unhurried. We ask about what's going on, what kinds of help you've tried before, what's working and what isn't. We answer your questions about the program, about Christian community, about what daily life is like here. There's no script and no pressure. Many first calls end with you saying you'll think about it. That's a fine outcome.
If you decide to move forward, we schedule a comprehensive clinical evaluation over a secure phone or video line with one of our doctors. This conversation typically takes between an hour and an hour and a half. We're listening for the full picture: medical history, mental health history, what's brought you to this point, what your goals are, and what we'd need to know to design care that fits.
Based on your evaluation, our clinical team designs an individualized treatment plan: which therapies are part of your daily schedule, which ancillary modalities (neurofeedback, EMDR, others) we recommend, what medications need coordination, and what the rhythm of your stay will look like. Most families review the packet over a day or two and have a few follow-up questions. Call any time. We expect them.
Once your plan is set, we confirm the total cost in plain language, including any ancillary services and Bring a Loved One arrangements. Payment is made in full before arrival. We know this is a significant amount. We'd rather have this conversation clearly and once than have any surprises after you arrive.
Your admissions documents are signed. Your treatment plan is in place. Now you make your way to us. Travel is your responsibility to book, but we're here to support you through every part of it. When you arrive at Cozumel International Airport or the ferry terminal, our team meets you and brings you to the property. Your first day is intentionally gentle — rest, an unhurried welcome, a tour, a conversation with your care team. Clinical work begins the next morning.
Around the same time we finalize your treatment plan, we send you an admissions packet. It's designed so families can review it together over a day or two — and so nothing on arrival is a surprise.
Your treatment plan summary — A clear write-up of the plan our clinical team has designed for your stay.
Your packing list — What to bring and what not to bring — practical, specific, no guesswork.
Travel guidance — Passport, gateway cities, and what to expect at customs.
The community guidelines — How daily life on the property works, so nothing on arrival is a surprise.
Cost confirmation — Including any ancillary services and Bring a Loved One arrangements.
Documents to review and DocuSign — Everything you need to review, sign, and email back from home.
Most families review the packet over a day or two and have a few follow-up questions. Call any time — we expect them. There is no script and no pressure on this side of the line either.
Talk With AdmissionsTravel is your responsibility to book, but we're here to support you through every part of it: which gateway cities work best, what to expect at customs, how to handle the ferry from Cancún if a direct flight to Cozumel doesn't work for your origin city, and what's reasonable to bring.

From first call to first morning on campus is usually two to four weeks, depending on how quickly evaluations are scheduled, documents are signed, and travel is arranged. Some families move faster. Some take longer. We'll work with whatever pace makes sense.
For urgent situations, we do our best to compress the timeline. But thorough admissions matter, and this is not a process to rush past.

Whether or not you decide Sanctuary is the right place, we'll do our best to help you think clearly about your next step.
The path begins with one conversation.
